Reenactment of the Mountain Man Era
Attention Visitors
Never been to a Rendezvous? Wonder what it's all about & why so many people do this?
You will understand once you attend your first Rendezvous as a day vistor or
camping . You and your family will step back in time when you arrive at camp. The time period is pre-1840 when the fur trade era was at it peak in history. Mountain Men cutting trails through the unexplored wilderness in search of fur pelts to sell or trade for enough goods to go back out and do it again for another year. We reenact this period of the Mountain Man from Traders selling their goods, shelters, starting fires, making clothes from leather, cooking and baking over an open fire with contests going on daily just as they did back in the day and plenty of things for the kids to participate in.
Come as you are ( in your street clothes) most rendezvous welcome vistiors and allow visitors during a certian times of the day, check the rendezvous flyer, they usually say if visitors are welcome and they may charge a small fee ( $1.00-$5.00) per person to get through the gate. Once your in, you will understand why so many of us do this.
You can attend for the day or weekend most rendezvous have a "Tin Tipi Area" where you can set up outside the primitive area in your Modern Tent or RV and stay for the event, you must be dressed in pre-1840 to be in camp after a certian time of day, usually in the evening. There are many rendezvous all over the U.S. year around, come join us for a great time in American History.

It's going to be a busy season!
Time to start checking all the gear for this rendezvous season and making a list of the events you want to attend. Most of us will be staying close to home due to reasons we have little control over. Some of the rendezvous closer to home can be the best ones!
